What determines whether saddle leather has four-way stretch, one-way stretch or low stretch?

The backing construction is the primary control for movement direction and recovery. The surface layer, embossing and finish must then be matched to that backing so the complete construction can form without unintended distortion.

When is Semi PU suitable for a motorcycle or scooter seat?

Semi PU is the main route for deep contours, complex curves and saddle covers that need controlled four-way movement. The final construction still needs to be confirmed against the seat geometry, forming process and target tests.

When is PVC calendered leather suitable for a bicycle saddle?

PVC calendered leather is a practical route for compact or flatter saddles where dimensional stability, controlled thickness and low movement are priorities.

What abrasion result has ROYI recorded for selected Semi PU saddle constructions?

In Taber rotary abrasion testing with H-18 wheels and 500 g on each of two test arms, selected Semi PU sample constructions reached 5,000 to 7,000 cycles without breakthrough. This result is limited to the tested samples and setup.

Does the 5,000 to 7,000 cycle result apply to every color, grain, backing and batch?
